Come one, come all to the fabulous stage of the one and only; "Madame Frisson's Cirque Bizarre".

This game has had two separate iterations; each with unique assets but following a similar storyline. Each game sets up the adventure for the session with the Cirque Bizarre arriving in a town only to be caught up in some kind of event or drama that is unfurling and it is down to the carnies to work together to resolve.

In its first iteration, the game had a loose format; there were assorted recurring NPC characters who had fun personalities for the players to build relationships with but this was the first ever game I had put together and it was somewhat rough.

Towards of the end of its lifespan - I tried to give the NPC characters a little more depth and ways of interacting with the players.

At the time, I didn't really know what I was doing other than that I wanted to make the world and characters seem lively and whimsical.

Taking what I had already established, I knew that for my revival of the game - I wanted to keep all the aspects that I liked about it, such as the fun circus characters but expand to give them a little more depth so they could be potentially more useful in-game.

In addition to that, I wanted it to be worthwhile for players to invest in them by giving them 'Secret Skills' that players could 'unlock' by spending time with their favourite NPC.

I also formatted some game information documents to give the players a more immersive experience, as though they actually were and are signing up to be a part of the circus themselves.

I even created a questionnaire to give me as the gamemaster an idea of what the players would be doing with their characters while also making the character creation process a little more unique for a game that would function like this.

When revisiting this, I was excited to bring new light to old characters but I didn't want to make their designs unrecogniseable.
